La Trappe Witte Trappist
The weather this June has been pretty awful, but today has been very sunny and the temperature peaked at a massive 29º Celsius. It seemed a suitable time to crack open this beer, one of a number of ales I brought back from my recent visit to Bruges. The Dutch La Trappe beers are from the most commercially-driven Trappist brewery and I’m sure this must be the first ever Trappist wheat beer. My verdict is that this 5.5% ABV beer is better than Hoegaarden but not as good as the well-known German wheat beers.
